According to Oxford Dictionary, a hero is a person who is admired by many for his noble qualities or his bravery. In Ernest Hemingway’s The Sun Also Rises, the hero is the bull fighter, Romero. “The crowd wanted him. Several boys shouted at Brett. The crowd was the boys, the dancers, and the drunks…They were all around him trying to lift him and put him on their shoulders…they held him and lifted him…They were lifting him and all running toward the gate.” (p. 225). People were crazy about him after the bull-fighting, and this makes him a hero. Romero displayed the bravery of being a bull fighter, and he also has the beauty, elegance of movements that is praised by so many. “Romero’s bull-fighting gave real emotion, because he kept the absolute purity of line in his moments and always quietly and calmly let the horns pass him close each time. He did not have to emphasize their closeness.” (p.171).
